Real-Time 4K Resolution at 30 Frames-per-Second on all 8 Channels

The MNR12082-8 8 channel NVR is equipped with an incredible Quad-Core embedded processor capable of recording 4K resolution video in real time (30 frames per second) on all 8 channels. 4K resolution brings greater details to your video, and allows you to utilize the extra resolution when you need to identify finer details, such as faces and license plates. 8MP 4K resolution is 3840 x 2160 pixels vs. 2MP 1920 x 1080 pixels, the more pixels gives you the ability to have further digital zoom, without pixelating the image as much.

Digital and Optical Zoom Supported

All of our Montavue IP cameras are equipped with 16x digital zoom and some are equipped with vari-focal lens which is optical zoom. This 8 channel NVR allows you to digitally and optically zoom in on the finest details of facial features and license plates from resolutions of 720P to 8MP 4K.

Simple PoE Installation – Plug and Play

When it comes to simplicity, Montavue has made it so simple that you just need to plug the included Cat5e ethernet cable with each camera into this NVR, and the other end into the camera, wait a minute or two and the camera will be auto recognized and pop up on your screen. The PoE simplicity is perfect, as both power and video are transferred through the same cable. It also gives you flexibility with installation. You can run one single cable from the NVR up to 300ft, and then if you need to go further you can hook a PoE switch up and you can run it an additional 300ft for a total of 600ft. Each one of our Montavue cameras come with a 100ft cat5e cable.

With IP cameras the fun doesn’t stop there. You can bring in cameras to your NVR that are plugged in from around the world as long as they have internet access. This gives you limitless capability, and with the ONVIF compatibility of these cameras (all Montavue cameras are ONVIF compatible which means), you can use them on ONVIF compatible software and recorders. The MNR12082-8 8 channel NVR will work flawlessly with our remote monitoring app, MontavueGO. With MontavueGO you can access and control your cameras and surveillance system from around the world with the power of internet and by using our incredibly easy to use application on your mobile device or computer. When using your mobile device simply download the MontavueGO app and scan the QR code on your NVR in order to sync your system to your phone. Now you can view, control cameras, and change the settings on your NVR from anywhere. Live viewing and past recordings are only the start, there are an abundant amount of features, one that we love is push notifications. Set the camera to motion detect, and when something moves in the area you designate, the application will send a push notification to your phone or device.

Along with the MontavueGO app, you can also access your NVR from anywhere in the world using a Windows or Mac web browser once you have the NVR configured with a username and password. You can use an IP address from your NVR or create a custom domain with our free DDNS serivce.

A new feature we have incorporated into our MontavueGO application, is called PC-NVR. This gives you the ability to record video directly to your PC’s hard drive. You will be able to allocate the amount of storage you want the recordings to take up on your hard drive, setup schedules, and set parameters to trigger recording.

Continuous, Scheduled, Motion, and IVS Recording Options

With the Montavue 4K NVR’s you are able to record your security footage in four ways, and using a different setting on each camera. First you have continuous recording to your hard drive, this gives you continuous coverage with no gaps, but uses the most hard drive storage. Second, you can schedule the cameras to record only during certain times, for example when you leave for work or away from home. Third, you can set up motion detection and the NVR will only record when the camera senses that motion. This advanced 4K NVR uses a pre-recording function that allows you to record up to 5 seconds before the motion was detected, so you don’t miss the moments before the motion. Lastly, you can use advanced IVS features such as tripwire, intrusion, and more to initiate recording.

All of these settings are individual to each camera, giving you the ability to have some set as continuous in high-traffic areas, and some scheduled, while the rest are motion. This allows you to maximize your storage capacity.

Advanced Motion Detection Supported

With the MNR12082-8 Montavue NVR and Montavue IP cameras, you have the ability to create very distinct motion detection zones. This gives you complete control over the alerts you receive on your phone, or record to your NVR. This advanced feature from Montavue allows you to only view and record the things that matter most. Each individual zone has its own sensitivity levels and thresholds. Gives you the power to fine-tune the zones to your exact liking and minimize false notifications from pets.

Industry Leading H.265 Video Compression for Less Storage and Bandwidth

The MNR12082-8 4K NVR is equipped with top of the line H.265 video compression. Compression is what helps minimize the storage needed to store your video and also reduces the bandwidth needed to send video through the network and to your mobile device. With H.265 compression, you can save up to 50% of storage compared to traditional H.264 compression. Or you can save up to 2x as much video when compared to H.264 with the same amount of storage used. Additionally, it increases the speed at which video transmits through the network and to your mobile device as they are smaller files.

Audio Recording on all channels of NVR

This 4K NVR can enhance your video recordings by adding audio alongside (listen-in audio camera required). The MNR12082-8 supports audio on all channels using the same ethernet cable that transmits your power and video. No need to run a separate cable. You can enable audio, and record it to your NVR for live listen and view, or playback.

Surveillance-Grade Hard Drive Preinstalled

The Montavue MNR12082-8 IP camera recording unit comes with a 2TB pre-installed surveillance grade hard drive made by either WD or Seagate. The hard drives we use are specifically designed to function under heavy use. They are designed to write and read constantly and allow you to view playback at the same time it is recording new footage. If you need additional storage, you can replace the included 2TB SATA hard drive with another SATA HD up to 10TB, and you have a slot to insert another hard drive up to 10TB, for a total capacity of 20TB.

Automatic hard drive overwriting

Montavue NVR’s are pre-programmed to automatically overwrite the oldest footage when the hard drive storage is full. You will never have to go in there to manually delete footage to make room for the new footage coming in. You can also set the NVR to stop recording once full, but then you have to manually delete the old footage to free up space.

Watch Dog power failure auto-recovery

Power outages are inevitable, but with our Montavue NVR’s you can rest assured that once the power comes back, our NVR will automatically reboot and start recording again. Also, the NVR includes a Watch Dog feature that continuously monitors the system, and if there is a critical error it will automatically reboot and start recording again. This will give you stability in your NVR, and prevent system failures.
